Think of this game as Sections 3 and 4 of "Royal Defense", rather than a stand-alone game. The only trick is that the enemies are tougher, but you still have to earn gems to build up your forces from scratch. The first section is doable, once you've maxed out most of the weapons. But I'm an experienced player, and haven't been able to crack even the first level at Easy of the second section. I like challenging games, but after so many unsuccessful attempts this one isn't so much fun anymore. Suggestion to developers: you make wonderful games! Give us some funny or interesting enemies but the game has to be doable.

similar to previous versions but really only for advanced game players, or people who know the trick of how to kill off the invisible attackers - no matter which towers I used I couldn't figure it out and I couldn't be bothered with trying to.

I agree with the other reviewers that this game gets very challenging very fast, a bit too fast. The first royal defense was a lot better balanced in that regard. But after some upgrades it is still very enjoyable. It is almost necessary to have played the first royal defense, since there is only a tutorial for the new additions. I am still playing this game and I have now 3 stars on the easy mode for all the levels in the first land (desert bones), so it really does get easier after some upgrades. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars, but went for 4 stars, because it is very addictive and I think it deserves a higher rating than it is getting.

This game was so much fun as a trial that I had to buy it. It gets very hard very quick. So hard that I don't know how much effort I'll put into it. I like my games a little more attainable.

I was very excited when I saw this, loving the first game soooo much (it was a 5+). At first, I was very happy with it. New groovy music, newish mobs, etc etc. However, after board 5, I was severely disappointed. The first game, on easy mode, allowed you to play the game with some strategy needed, but it was fun. To get the normal and hard boards done, you needed to do some heavier thinking and do some grinding for gems to get upgrades. With this one, you have to do serious grinding to just get past the easy levels of the 1/2 half. And, after you grind out some, to do the 2nd half, forget it. Nerfing the artillery, bad move. Less spots to build, and then being forced to build towers to see the invisible mobs just to get mobbed by hordes on the next one with limited resources..nay. You have completely destroyed with me the fun and enjoyment I had with your first game. There is the concept of challenge, and then the concept of not being fun. You all, completely went with the 'not fun route'. I do not recommend this game at all to anyone.
