I'm giving this game two and a half because while it was interesting and kept me guessing the lack of hints was pretty frustrating and I had to go everywhere to find things.

Looks like it will be an interesting game, but everytime I close the game to do something else when I come back the game freezes up and I cannot play anymore. Not sure if this is just a problem with my system or not. Very interesting game with good mix of HOD and puzzles.

I can’t say that, I’ve played anything like this game before. Some might find returning to the same areas aggravating but you get use to it. Curse of the Opera has a magnificent plot. This is something you’d never expect. The spooky/ grim areas of the game aren’t freighting at all. The artwork in these HO scenes aren’t the best. There were some unnecessary, dim (almost unrecognizable) objects, clutter, and/ or repeated clicks. On more than one incident, I my item was listed a comb. In those cases, I used a hint only to find that a brush was cleared. The mini games range from easy to expert. In some cases you have to stop, think, and pay attention to what you’re doing as well as past scenes. I didn’t run into a slow mouse during the game. DO NOT second guess this game.
I love this series of games. There is enough reviews where I am sure the whole point has already been explained. Great game, definitely recommend it.

I really liked the game at the begining but towards the end hated having to go search everywhere to find objects. It has very good graphics and ok storyline. Some areas are very dark and hard to find things. Overall I liked the game but won't replay it.

It was okay. A lot of very dark areas and hard to see things hidden in them.

Just about done with the game, and have enjoyed it so far. Some graphics are good, and some are some are difficult to figure out and had to use the hint. Some graphics seem to have been drawn by someone else. 3/4 into the game I had to resort to the walkthrough, I could not figure out what else to do. (Thus my challenging rating.) But all in all a fun game with interesting side games.

really liked this HO game. scary scenes/music/people. the dialogue was good-clearly spoken with much inflection-could feel the anger/desperation. the objects were just challenging enuf without being annoying. going from place to place was interesting-the map/journal/written goals were helpful without giving too much away. i found this game challenging and interesting. it held my attention. it was scary, creepy, but not gory-i hate gory. sad when my hr was up-may just have to buy this one...
One of my favs. Loved the storyline. Liked the way it made me think and the way it went back and forth through the village. I do wish it had used the first couple of areas more. Can't wait for a sequel

I downloaded the repaired version of the game and found it enjoyable. Due to the unusual naming of some every day items and blending of others in to the background, the game was very challending at times. Routine backtracking to find new clues or objects adds to the experience and enjoyment. I rate this as one of the better games I have played.

I played this game after playing Nightfall Mysteries - Asylum Conspiracy. Not a good idea, as Asylum Conspiracy is a much better game. It seems that the developers listened to reviews and fixed the flaws in this game. The flaws: Hidden objects were, at times, very difficult to find. Scenes were very dark. Lack of instruction as to where to go next. Non-intuitive puzzles. etc. Graphics were good, characters interesting if not downright ugly. Music fit the scene. All in all, this one is the poor relation in the Nighfall Mysteries series.
If it hadn't been for the lack of direction on the puzzles portions of this game I would have rated it 5 stars. I found most of the puzzles were noy able to be solved intuitively and became frustrated quickly - which means I skipped a lot of them. It is an involved game requiring you to travel back and forth between the places in the village and it did get a little confusing at times. However, with perserverance you will be able to make it through all of the chapters. I didn't play it more than once so I can't comment on whether or not it has good replay value. It's not a timed game and hints are plentiful and recharge quickly.
I haven't even played this one right through yet but am enjoying it greatly. It is refreshingly original - not in its concept so much as in the new ways it presents its challenges. After downloading it as a trial I simply had to buy it. A marked contrast to '20,000 leagues etc.'! Well done to the creators of this one...I hope they continue to develop new twists and turns in the future.

This game is good and interesting, but it has very very dark graphics to find the HO, ended up bored and tired .

I really liked this game. It kept me playing until my eyes started watering. LOL All the different levels, there was sooo many levels and all of them will have you wanting to play more. The characters were kool except the opera singer so mad me sick. The mini games were ok, you always have to go to the next clue to get an answer. I recomend this game. It was fun. If you get stuck go to the walkthroughs online

I really enjoy this game. It does require thinking because you have to figure out where to go next, as there are a lot of different locations that need to be investigated and you don't get hints on where to go; you have to figure it out.

I have only played the one hour demo so far and was so engrossed in the game that I was surprised when the hour was up, so now I am purchasing the full version as I have barely made a dent in the game and can hardly wait to keep playing further. It's a little more unique than most HO games, it leaves you to figure things out largely on your own but the hint feature is there if you need it and the ability to skip mini games. Twinkling lights help indicate which area of the map you should explore next. As someone else stated a complete polar opposite from 20,000 Leagues which was a complete snooze fest and a waste of time.
