The other reviewers mentioned that this game didn't have the checklist, and there was a lot of clicking, and while this is true, I'd like to point out some things. The first and foremost being that this is an older ND game, one of the first. I played it when it first came out, and *I* thought it was amazing. To judge a game based on others that came later seems a bit unfair. Also, this game was built on one of the original point-and-click premises of note-taking. You see some information that you aren't going to remember? Than you better write it down, or you'll be in a spot later. The checklist is a bit ..... easy, don't you think? It basically tells you exactly what to do. Where's the "mystery" in that? So please don't judge a good older game on the merits of the newer, more cutting edge siblings.

This game has no direction. You wander down hallways where all the doors look the same, turn a corner and more doors. You have one key and it seems to open nothing. Not for me. Deleted.

I have played many Nancy drew games so I understand the frustration by some but i enjoyed this game immensely. Yes the interface is not as fancy and you don't have the notepad but the puzzles were great and i would recommend this game to any Nancy fan.

My daughter and I have played all the Nancy Drew games together since she was a little girl and still play them together now that she is 18! This game has actually been out for quite a while. Although it isn't our favorite ND, it's a really great one. All the ND games are the best out there. There are none that compare to their puzzles, story line, and graphics. If you've never tried one, you really should. They have great endings and we are always sorry to see them end. They also are usually pretty long games, so you really get your money's worth. Give it a try, you might get hooked on them too!

I have played other ND games and they were nothing like this one. No real direction, which if you're used to playing these types of games you can figure out what to do. Also, I saved a game and when I went to load it, nothing was there. Sorry I deleted it.

If I could give this game 0 stars I would. Right from the get go the graphics are horrible and the rest gets worse from there. I made it about 5 minutes into the game and quit playing I was so frustrated. Most hog games I dont have to watch the tutorial but I did on this one and still was confused because after starting to play the areas your supposed to look at had nothing for you to do except look.I guess it was for something later on in the game.I have played tons of hog games and so far this is the worst one yet.

I like the Nancy Drew games. this wasn't my favorite. It was missing the to do list which usually gives you some direction. This game was alot of clicking and asking questions. I was unable to select items unless i was in exactly the right position frustrating. I finished the game but it took awhile.

I love the Nancy Drew games and if you run into trouble there are tons of walkthroughs or helps on herinteractive.com. Good game for your money and high quality.

I have searched the house, found a few items, and have no idea what to do now. Phone calls to friends don't help. Seems like there would be someway to map around. Her "diary book" is of no help. I can't even find the "mosiac in the corner" I'm supposed to be putting together. UGGG... Giving up on this game.

I think this game got a bum rap, and I strongly suspect that this happened for two reasons. Firstly, there's a very tough puzzle right at the beginning of the game.. tough not because of hard thinking, but because the game controls for the wooden inlay puzzle aren't as good as they could be. The developers could have made it behave more like a 3-D puzzle with the pieces snapping to align with the nearest edge, rather than acting like a 2-D paper puzzle that you have to align to the pixel with shaky hands. I gave the game the benefit of the doubt, despite poor reviews and this challenge within the first hour, because as a Nancy Drew game fan, I know there's often just one puzzle that will drive me nuts within an otherwise fun game (and this one was it), and I'm glad I did buy it and complete the game. Second reason for the poor reviews, I think, is the loss of the 'to do' list. This game does encourage you to think for yourself when deciding what to do, but for those who are really stuck, you can call Bess and George. They'll tell you what you need to do. Get past those two items, and I think most mystery gamers would find this game very entertaining and challenging, with a great story line!
