Reviews of My Kingdom for the Princess IV

Sorry to say I had no problems leaving my chores to play this game. I preferred the chores! I found this game so irritating. As other people have said having to go back over and over again just to pick up one resource is so annoying. I realised I was spending more time picking up resources than actually aiming at my goals which I had to remember because they are no longer on the screen as in previous games. I am about half way through and I live in hope that there may be a warehouse so I can store more than 20 items. In the rare times when you have 20 of something you then have to waste some just so you can get at something else. Why make so many changes? I have bought the other 3 games in this series but I will not be buying this one. I will play it on fun-pass only.

I really enjoyed the previous 3 versions of My Kingdom for the Princess but I uninstalled this one after just a few levels (thank you Fun Pass!). The new graphics on the story line were nice but I much preferred the old straightforward game play and bonuses. They just changed it too much and it felt awkward and unrelaxing to me.

I disagree with other reviewers. I find this game much more enjoyable than the previous version. The graphics are better and the game play is faster.

I was so excited to see part 4 released and bought the full game straight away - I could see there were some new designers involved, but I figured even if it wasn't quite as good as parts 1, 2 and 3, it would still be a great game. It's one of the best games of its type out there. But nope. The other reviewers are right. And it's not just the rubbish new graphics and design. The whole game play is different. What on paper might have looked like small changes, completely ruin the charm of the game and the strategic play of which order to complete the tasks in. They even took out the wonderful "you've expanded your castle" announcement after each level! I absolutely don't get why they would mess with such a great game format. I felt as much disappointment as I did when trying to play Plants Vs Zombies 2!

It should have the no time option. Get stuck and you can't move on. Wasted my money.

The previous reviewer captured my thoughts about the multiple times it takes to collect materials. And I add the irritating and strange creatures that appear from time to time shooting at you. Why mess with such a good series in this way?

I am glad that I only paid $1.75 for this game. It is so boring, awful, awful, awful.

I love the first three My Kingdom for my Princess games but this one is awful. It is all changed and not to the good. I will not be buying this game. As the saying goes "If it is not broke, don't fix it".

I like My Kingdom for the Princess games but this one is so repetitive. You have to go back to the same thing over and over to complete picking it up. 3 of everything. Pretty annoying.

I love this series and up till now they have been addictive and fun but they have seriously ruined it. The first annoying this was the not knowing what I am doing, sure they tell you your tasks at the beginning but there is no check list at the top of the screen so if you forget you have to guess whats next. the second annoying and probably the most tedious is the running back and forth a million times just to collect a tiny amount of food or wood or gold. Then there are the millions of dragons that shoot at you, if I wanted an action game I would have bought one I wanted a time management game and when does shooting things shout time management to you. So not a happy bunny.

I am disappointed in the way they change this game from the first three. I made it to the last level, which I cannot finish because there is just not enough resources to do so, but I found it to be that way in a lot of the levels but after several attempts I was able to finish but not with gold. The first three additions of this game were much better.

I was excited when I saw IV. But it does not live up to the name. There is no way to get gold in some levels no matter how many times you try. The resource collecting takes to long. I can play MKFP III over and over, but this one is does not have replay value. It is only annoying. I hope they do better next time. If there is a next time

Like others that have reviewed this installment, I am feeling a little disappointed. I actually don't mind the new format so much, it just isn't as challenging. I am currently on level four and have only replayed once in order to make gold. I don't like the castle format as much and I REALLY miss the extra challenge of not only the game play, but also miss having the opportunity to "beat the developer." This particular added feature provided much more replay value in the second and third installments. The story line is good, the graphics are great, and I like that I am able to turn off the floating option (makes me dizzy). I also miss building in this game, which has taken away some of the challenge of previous versions, especially where you can strategize how many levels for each building. So far in my game play, building has been inconsistent (except for the dragon zapper thingy), . Bottom line, MKFTP IV has potential, but a few key elements are missing that have made the series one of the favorites in the time management genre. I hope the developers bring some of that back in the next installment (being optimistic).

I'm surprised at the 1 star reviews given to this game. I understand being disappointed in the changes from previous versions, but I still found it to be better than other TM games on this site with 3-4 star ratings. I actually would give it a 3.5 if that were an option. The game starts out easy, and gets harder as you progress. I managed to get gold on all but three levels. There are some changes... the game shifts on your screen (you can stop it), most resources take two or three trips in order to pick everything up, and you get dragons on different levels that stop your workers from doing anything. You can shoot the dragons with your mouse, or use resources to build a tower that will take care of them for you. You can also upgrade the tower, which is helpful since the number of dragons will increase as you progress through the game. I was a big fan of the previous games and was disappointed at first with this version, but it did grow on me as I continued to play. It kept me entertained for hours, and can still keep me entertained as I try to get gold on every level. It's definitely worth playing using FunPass.

I was so glad there was finally no.4. Now I'm glad I didn't buy it. I didn't even play the whole hour of free trial. They tried to make it look more modern, but it's just completely bad. I immediately removed this slide thing. The road are not clear to see. You have to go 3 times per provision locations to get 3 units of them. Why did they do this?! Really disappointing.

I love the first three My Kingdom for the Princess games. I don't understand why the graphics and format had to change. I do not like this one and will not be buying it.

I was so excited to see there was a 4th version to one of my favorite all time management games. Initially I found the game extremely boring and very disappointing from the first 3 versions. The graphics were a huge letdown and I found I went through the first 2 chapters without any challenge. Once I got to the 3rd chapter it did become more challenging. I am now in the 4th chapter and finding I need to play a level over several times to achieve gold. If you are willing to take the time, it is well worth playing this game. Although I am disappointed in this version of one of my favorite games, this is truly one of the better time management games! Suggest playing it as a game on it's own rather than expecting it to be "bigger and better" than previous versions.

I like most people could not wait for the next in this Series. Why did they go and make it so different from the first 3 .... The first 3 were why we fell in love with this Game! Everything is too small ...like it is zoomed out. And you cannot zoom in closer ....hard to see. Don't like the floating ...don't like the flying things, don't like the guy's voice, don't like the setting. If you decide to make a fifth game ....model it on the first 3 games ....just change up the landscape a little bit.

What in the world??? I am a firm believer of not changing - at least not TOO much - a good thing. And the first 3 in this series were GREAT things. But what the heck happened here? The graphics are nauseating (although luckily you can opt for a non-moving screen in the options section) - & they are more reminiscent of Donkey Kong than MKFP. The WORST change, however, is this new & super annoying way of collecting resources & accomplishing tasks, etc. Here, when your resource piles appear, you now have to run 3 - yes THREE - times to collect the whole pile! This is also the case for the tasks along the roads - so now you have to go chop wood piles or clear rocks numerous times PER pile & EACH time costs you precious resources! I really believe the developers of this game sat around thinking GEE - how can we take a really terrific series & turn it into the most annoying thing EVER?? Ugh!!! What a complete & utter disappointment. If you play this at all, try not to think of the first 3 in the series & treat this like a whole different game - otherwise you will be as baffled as I am!

Was very happy to see IV as I love thsi series.ay too easy on most levels and too short. The slidy thing, the multiple pick-ups, things shooting at you...why? Too bad.
