I enjoyed this game! Made well, hos was ok, but too dark over and over, just click more! good game with goblin, thanks!

I am really surprised by the other negative reviews of this game. I actually found the gameplay to be a great deal of fun and it flowed very well. The puzzles were very original and the right level of difficulty that lent a sense of satisfaction and I did not think the gameplay, hidden object scenes or storyline was in any way dated. I play a great deal of casual adventure and hidden object games and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall enjoyment of this game. I recommend this game as being above average and worth the money.

First off, I don't understand why in a hidden object game, the object you get from the HOS is not in any way related to anything you were seeking in the scene! This makes the whole thing seem ridiculous. Why not put the object in the scene? Secondly, I found the mini-games to go from extremely simple to absolutely frustrating. There were no directions or hints available once you got into the game. The only options were figure it out or skip it. I ended up skipping several simply because I could not understand the objective or how it worked. One lock-picking puzzle, for example, did nothing no matter where I clicked. I could slide the pick in and out and that was all. I always play with the sound muted so I was also put off by the little creature that had to say whatever he was saying before I could do the match 3 games. I really wanted to just get on with it, but couldn't click past his speech which I wasn't even listening to. Bottom line. I wouldn't recommend this game.

I looked up the word Macarbre ~ disturbing and horrifying because of involvement with or depiction of death and injury. "a macabre series of murders" synonyms: gruesome, grisly, grim, gory, morbid, ghastly, unearthly, grotesque, hideous, horrific, shocking, dreadful, loathsome, repugnant, repulsive, sickening I have to agree with some of the synonyms, it is dreadful, dreadful and loathsome. I guess repulsive, repugnant and hideous would be a little too much... I bought this game because I was stuck at the beginning. I could not press the cell phone to answer the call of my daughter who was kidnapped by a boy holding an elephant. He abducted the children in the park including my daughter. She calls me after I'm also sucked into this vortex or portal. AND I could not answer the phone. After purchasing the game, i found that if you slide the hand across the green arrows that are pointing to the right, it will slide and UNLOCK the phone... I guess the devs have an iphone.,,, anyways, the game gets worse from there and I wish I had not purchased it. I should have played the demo first. Let that be a lesson to me. The game is old school. The graphics are hand-drawn and somewhat clear, HO are so very hard to find, sometimes they are hiding behind items. Some items are mislabeled, like a lamp is a lightbulb. Popups have to be closed will not close when you click off of them, you have to click on the X. Annoying. The whole process of traveling and finding your daughter, is halting, annoying, obtuse (look those words up in the FreeDictionary. online). That definitely describes this game. I usually am not so harsh, but I would not have bought this if I had played the demo. I was hoping it would get better, but it doesn't. The game is linear, you travel from point to point. Picking up items, looking for more and it is slow and difficult. You travel to several locations just to get to the keys to unlock the doors/gates. The hint system doesn't work too well in the game play, mostly in the HOS. The minigames are old school, most are easy. Don't select the Monster or Hard option or you can't skip them. The storyline is vague. Hahaha, you don't have to look that one up, it describes the game. If you get this game, just be prepared to have lots of patience. I do not recommend this game. GH still does not have these games for my selection of recommended games. So I am listing them here: Dark Angels - Masquerade of Shadows One of the Best! Island Tribe 5 Moai - Build Your Dream Nearwood - Platinum Edition Legacy Tales - Mercy of the Gallows Platinum Edition

This is a well rounded game. It had a decent storyline, excellent graphics, nice music, and an interactive map that allowed you to jump from one location to another. The map also told you where there were tasks left to be completed, which is always welcome. The cut scenes were seamless, but the voice over was terrible. I'm glad the heroine didn't speak more, because I found her voice quite irritating. This Adventure/HOG is not for beginners. The hidden object scenes are considerably more difficult than normal, but the mini games were average. I disliked the match 3 play because you had to click rather than slide the game pieces. Most mini games you could skip (although I saw no reason to do so), but these match 3s, that I would have liked to skip, did not let you out of playing and beating the clock. Overall a well done game.

I love the HOG, but the story was nothing, I didn't like it at all, good thing I didn't buy it. Sorry to this new publisher but it could have been a lot better.

I'm not into HOS games but i liked this one. It's has it unique flow and atmosphere. The story is simple - mother in a search of her daughter. You can call this a "cliché" but nowadays everything is a cliché. And since game is pretty cheap - around 10 bucks, i didn't expect a decent story at all. Graphics are well made - every location has it style, atmosphere. Game have a variety of puzzles like Match-3, HOS and other unique puzzles. They can be hard - they are really. But overall it's satisfying. There is a map, art gallery, voiced dialogs, movies, unique puzzle, simple but catchy story. Audio feels little deja'vu but it can't be helped i guess. But i like the main theme of the game. So we have here a dark, trilling experience for those who seek challenge and fun. I recommend this game.

The storyline is well developed. The puzzles are difficult, but achieveable. The graphics are excellent, and the HO's well rendered.

I would not recommend anyone to try this game. I downloaded the game and tried numerous times to play the game. I was never able to get past the ringing of the cell phone. After reading the other person's review, I felt better. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my computer.

the story was flimsy and the scenes were basic. I think that the next version will be better and the kinks will be removed. some of the problems were the phone call - you must slide the mouse over the three arrows. the safe was a problem - you must enter 52 when the clue shows XX. the graphics were poor for the objects - I did not realize that the "blob" in my inventory was actually "broken glass" and so I spent a lot of time in the room next to the wrecking ball trying to figure out what to do. however, there were no bugs in the system. the game was very short and I think that that fact helped keep the frustration level down.

It seems like, from the reviews, that you either really like this game or hate it. I'm in the latter, unfortunately. I couldn't even finish the game. First of all, the whole game is dark, everything is really small and hard to see. The graphics are great but I felt like I was looking so hard all the time trying to see what to do next. When you pick up an item, you aren't told what you just picked up - the only way to know what you collected is to click on the item in your inventory and then it says. You complete an HO scene and get an item you didn't even look for - weird. The arrow would stay an arrow at times when I thought it should be a magnifying glass. Didn't know where to click sometimes because of this. (I usually play the easiest level so I still need that magnifying glass! Ha..) There were simple puzzles - you could skip them if you want but they weren't that difficult. Items that are listed in the HO scenes that need another item to collect them aren't a different color or anything so you have no idea what items are actually in the scene or which ones require a tool or something to collect. The only pros of this game were that the hint button refilled quickly and the map was interactive and got you around quickly.

This was definitely an interesting game. Visually some of HO scenes are beautiful and none are too difficult. The mini games are unusual and some are fairly difficult balanced out with some not so much. All save one can be skipped, and that one I really wanted to! There is a map that shows you where you are and if something needs doing, and you can transport to any location from it which is always a plus. The hint system is good for the most part, giving a nudge in the right direction when needed without telling you flat out what to do. Hence calling it "hint" is appropriate. The vampire is quite handsome, you almost wish he wasn't the bad guy. After completing the game you can save art, music etc. It was a nice little game all in all.

I wouldn't want my kids (pre-teens) to play this. Definitely has some mature content (even says "d*** diary"). Showing the elephant get stabbed in the head seemed a bit unnecessary to me, and the story line of kids being abducted by a vampire, along with that creepy green dude, could be scary for young kids. But what bothered me the most about this particular game was the writing! Who wrote this?? It was worded so poorly, as if it were translated from a foreign language. Even the voices sounded digitized and fake. Mouses? Really?? It looks pretty, though. As for the mini games, they went from being way way too easy (like the playing card riddle) to impossible for me (the pink and blue sliding gem game, which I ultimately had to skip). There were times when I had no idea what to do (like the safe code, which I solved but have no idea how). I had to use hints quite a few times because I just wasn't scanning over items that I needed to pick up or places where I needed to go. Take your time. I think this one is worth playing, but be prepared for some annoyances. I wish game makers would allow us the opportunity to go back and try mini games again if we have to skip them. I would definitely not do this one on Monster mode where you can't skip games.

The CON'S: The most frustrating game I've played in a long time. Like the other reviewer said, I knew I was in trouble when the very first action in the beginning of the game was to answer the phone and I couldn't figure out how to do it. In one HO your list contains the object "broken mirror", I found the mirror that I knew I had to break but nothing turned into a hand icon to help me so I clicked on everything. Turned out to be an egg that I had to use to break the mirror. An egg? Really?! Never would have guessed that. Another odd thing is that at the end of the HO's your given a tool that you need but the tool had nothing to do with the HO. Normally the tool you need to find is in the HO, not just randomly given at the end. Another example of how badly this game was made is that in one of the mini games you are shown pictures of different animals/reptiles/insects and you have to count their legs to find a code to the safe. I know how to count, a dog has 4, a spider has 8, etc. but I kept getting the code wrong. Why? Because according to them a snake has 1 leg. No,... it doesn't. I really wanted to finish this game because I like to see how the story ends but after about 8 hours I finally stopped. There was no journal to help you keep your thoughts together in. The mini games had no directions. I was spending an inordinate amount of time just clicking around because you literally didn't know what to do since the developers where just so all over the place with things that didn't make any sense. The PRO'S: The map allows to you jump from area to area and shows you what areas still have actions to be completed. There are better games out there. Save your money on this one.

This game was alright. The hidden objects were pretty easy to find and the miini-games required thought, but not too tough. I skipped a few because they were kind of tedious, not because they were difficult. The match-3 cutaways were my least favorite...between the timer and the rotating, sparkly jewels, I had a hard time with these and often had to redo them...there was no skip for these. I do not play with sound so I cannot rate the music or dialogue. The interactive map was nice to bounce between areas. I didn't enjoy this game as much as others I've played, but it wasn't the worst either. It was alright to pass the time with my FunPass.

I completed the trial and had no desire to purchase the game. I play a lot of HO games. Interactive boxes will not close unless you find the "X" or use the down arrow to exit scene. After going to 4-5 different scenes there was no involment and became very boring. The graphics are very nice.
