I've played through this free trial three times so far. Here are my issues. 1. There is no tutorial to show you how to move from screen to screen, the cursor is tiny, and you cannot skip the cut scenes, so you are trapped into wasting a lot of time if you need to start the game over. 2. Once I'd figured out how to navigate the game, I was put into a series of arcade games including one that was very PacMan like, and was timed. Chess requires patience, not speed. Several of the so-called training games I ran into involved speed rather than skill. 3. There is virtually no actual chess instruction here. The only piece I learned to move was the queen, and she was part of a game that I couldn't complete because I did not make the moves that the program thought I should. Chess is about flexibility of thought, not monolithic moves. 4. I thought maybe this game could improve my chess game, or help me teach my nieces how to play. I would recommend Chess Titans and learning by trial and error over this game. I am still looking for a good chess instruction game. This is not it.

I was hoping for a game that would actually teach the basics of chess with perhaps advice on simple game strategies. Instead, I had all I could do to figure out how to go from one scene to another. And the arcade-style games did nothing, that I could see, to teach the game. Each piece has precise movements, and nowhere did I find explanations for most of these. And using timed games is a poor approach to a game dependent on thinking and strategy. I was taught chess in my teens in a simple way that made it fun to play. This game, unfortunately, does not reach that mark.

Way too much dialogue in this game! I got bored with it and couldn't finish the game....in fact, didn't even start. I know it is geared for kids but they will probably get bored with all the dialogue as well. I was hoping to learn to play chess lol. Guess i'll have to keep looking around. Skip this one!!

Boring storyline that goes on and on and on... No option to skip. Five minutes of tedious storyline and still had not started game play. I gave up and uninstalled it. The game should teach children chess...not bore them to tears.
