This is a match 3 game with 'find the hidden acorn' levels thrown in. The levels to find the acorns are horrible. You can get unlimited hints, which is good, because without them there's no way to find all the acorns. And you can't skip the level to find the acorns, either. So, if you are bad at hidden object games, expect to spend 15 minutes on finding acorns, because it's 1 minute before a hint is allowed again. Another problem with the game is the "catch the acorn" levels. I found them hard to catch, and got very frustrated on these levels. The majority of the game though is so addictive, even though it is really easy and kind of slow, it's one of those 'can't stop playing' games. It's excellent for children. Accessibility note: The game requires a mouse, and is not easily playable by someone with visual impairment. However, because the game is /easy/, it does add some appeal and playability. Bottom line: Don't start playing this game late at night if you have an obligation in the morning unless you intend to stay up all night, or you have the willpower to STOP.

Gorgeous graphics, animations are okay. The game is breaking and collapsing groups of blocks to release fairies, who then giggle. That got annoying by level 2, since the sound never varied. The trapped fairies were a novel idea, but the collapsing blocks didn't hold my interest.

I'm in my late 50's, married, a full time housewife, the mother of 17 children and have 14 grandchildren with 3 more on the way later this year. I play computer games at night to relax after a hectic day of cleaning our home, cooking & baking, doing laundry, yard work, grocery shopping, running errands, etc. I enjoyed Fairy Island but it's not much of a challenge for me. This game is much like Collapse and Super Collapse ... if you're really good playing both of those games, you'll quickly get a very high score in Fairy Island as well which I encountered so this game was a bit of a disappointment for me. The bonus game of trying to catch the acorns was a bit more challenging but it wasn't difficult for me to obtain the goal every time which is a disappointment for me as well. I agree with other reviewers of Fairy Island in that this game is addictive but because of how similar it is to Collapse and Super Collapse, both of which I own and still play occasionally ("once in a blue moon"), I will not purchase Fairy Island. Despite what I said above, I feel very strongly that if you enjoy playing Match 3 games, play the hour trial of Fairy Island and see for yourself what it's like. Take my review of Fairy Island at face value ... this is only my personal opinion ... your personal opinion of Fairy Island may be completely different than mine. (If everyone in this world enjoyed the same things, this would be an extremely boring world to live in.)

This is one of my favourite games, and I must admit to playing it to death. I just found it so relaxing and enjoyable to play. The graphics are really beautiful and I think the most attractive of the collapse type games. The acorn levels are a bit of a challenge, but once you've played the game through and can choose to replay whichever mode you want without the acorns and storyline, then the game really is a joy. It's just a great way to unwind. Highly recommended for those that like a relaxing kind of Match 3 game.
