I loved this game. The solitaire challenges were great, and I had to "start over" quite a few rounds because the winner in me didn't like the XXXs (this means you lost the round). Winning all of the games in the round never happened for me. Just accomplishing the goals was good enough. I loved the "hero's" tale telling. His voice was perfectly pitched for the story. I didn't explore the "pet" development part, so I can't comment on it. You have plenty of rounds to play so the value for the game is there also. Since this game was released in 2009, I was hoping for a sequel - no such luck yet.

Fairie Solitaire is an easy game to learn. You start off with a board of cards arranged any number of ways with some cards exposed, some not. The card closest to you is usually always shown. You flip over your cards one at a time. Based on your number you can take the card closest to you if it is one higher or lower, regardless of suit. You can then take the next higher or lower card, and so on. When you are unable to match any more cards you turn over your next card and continue until your deck is exhausted. The object is to remove all the cards from the board. Once completed, you get a "perfect" and you continue to the next board. Different objectives come in to play as you progress through the game. For example, instead of clearing the entire board, the objective may be to clear five-cards in a row. In normal mode these objectives are usually quite easy to complete but there are more challenging difficulties you can select. A story unfolds, albeit excruciatingly slow, about saving little faerie damsels in distress. Usually there is only a sentence or two before you head off to the next level which doesn't really draw the player into the game. There are also powerups you can purchase with the money you have accumulated by playing. It's not clear if you get additional money for clearing a board in its entirety (a perfect) although you do see money added to your balance when you clear individual columns. Powerups include things like being able to destroy a card, seeing the number of cards you have left or getting additional money. The boards become increasingly difficult too. Some columns are locked up until you clear a different column entirely, other cards are frozen until you nab a "fire-card" to melt them, etc. These variations help keep the game challenging. In addition to cash you will occasionally find rare items with each column you complete. An egg is a rare collectible that hatches using a various number of wood, stone, and magic elements you also collect at random as you play. Once hatched, it can grow to an adult using experience based on the time you spend playing. I have found the randomness and relative infrequency of these rare items have made it difficult to hatch these different eggs with regularity. My first run-thru I kept getting many different eggs but I could never obtain one of the three elements I needed to hatch them. My second run-thru I'm overloaded with elements but never seem to find any eggs. It doesn't matter much because once hatched they don't serve any purpose or provide any help. It's odd considering the difficulty obtaining these rare items. It's rather like someone handing you a worthless baseball card because you've played a lot of solitaire. Undoubtedly this is a fun game and a recommended download for solitaire fans but I keep feeling this game could have been a five-star title with just a few improvements. More story between levels and more rewards and powerups for all the solitaire you will ultimately need to play would have made it easier for me to give Faerie Solitaire a high recommendation. In its current form I fear some will become bored with the repetitiveness. All the pets and powerups don't change the fact that you're just turning cards over and over again. Five stars for solitaire fans, three stars for everyone else.

This is one card game that had me replay over and over. The reason for that it's not just any basic card game, there are eggs to hatch and animals to evolve. The challenging part is trying to get perfect on all stages, it is not easy. Have fun playing this game becasuse I sure do.

This was really fun and at first I was super excited to get pets and find out what they would do for me. I was really disappointed when I discovered that all you get for raising them was some stupid paragraph that doesn't mean anything. I also was disappointed to find out that when they become adults they are just the animals on the cards (which makes it so you can predict what they will become instead of being kept in suspense) which are too cartoony and goofy. The game itself is super fun though. The levels are easy at first, but get harder and the challenge levels are...challenging! My kids love it and watch over my shoulder, groaning when I miss a chance to keep my combo going. Great game, but I think the developers missed a chance to do some unique and interesting things with the pets.

I am a solitaire fan, and this one is one of the best. Have been disappointed with card games since Jewel Quest Solitaire series and Faerie Solitaire brought back my zeal for the game. Its a good relaxing game, because you are playing games, and you instantly get hooked on the idea of finding all of the pet eggs and evolving them into pets. Gives it a fun and different aspect. The graphics are easy on the eye, and the loading sequences are quick and not too distracting. Definitely recommend this for the die hard solitaire fan. I've played it through twice since buying it. And to me, Jewel Quest Solitaire is hard to beat, but this definitely is up there with the best.

I've been playing this game for a couple of years and never get tired of it. I keep waiting for the second edition to come out. I actually looked up the designer and went to the website looking for the next chapter. I love the pets evolving portion and the card games are fun - yes I found all the pets and obviously have no life! LOL!!

It was fun to see how many cards I could make in a "run." A couple of levels were a little difficult but overall this was an easy game, you still need to use strategy to complete the levels. Collecting eggs and hatching them was a nice diversion. Very, very nice game, lots of replay value, well worth it.

I absolutely love solitaire, I think I have pretty much all the solitaire games GameHouse offers and I have to say Faerie Solitaire is in my top 5! The story line is good, the graphics are gorgeous and I spend way too much time playing it! It was well worth the price!

This is the best solitaire game since Fairway solitaire. The storyline is okay but you can find eggs and evolve them which makes up for it. The game allows you select the difficulty you like. I have played through this game already once and playing through again to evolve all my animals. It is worth every penny as I spent almost 20 hours on this game and still have pets to get/evolve. Definitely worth buying. Side note: The developers stated that they are working on creating wallpaper for you desktop with the animals from the game. You can find them in any forum on the game as they are answering many questions and fixed many bugs. When I got the game initially there was only one difficulty. When people suggested other settings they changed the game and updates were available.

I like to play this often and over and over again especially when I am tired and just want to chill. It is fun and I like watching my eggs hatch and then evolve into fun creatures.
