Escape the Lost Kingdom Platinum Edition

Note: this game doesn't work on Windows 8/8.1/10.
Help a young family reunite safely in Escape the Lost Kingdom Platinum Edition, a thrilling adventure-oriented quest. Henry, Laura, Emily and Francis are at a special opening preview of the newest museum exhibit in Egypt. While touring the area, they stumble across the long forgotten tomb of a cursed Pharaoh named Raned. Their curiosity leads them in, but quickly they realize the dangers of such pursuits as the trap-infested tomb separates them. Now, they must not only find each other again, but hope to make it out alive as well.

Walk through the ruins of this ancient tomb and get the family to safety. Play as each of the members working their way towards each other. Use the magical Glyph Vision goggles to find areas of interest, and the Time Amulet to solve puzzles. Search for helpful objects, collect special items, and discover the fascinating story behind the tomb and its treasures buried within. For a special treat, turn on the 3D game mode, put on a pair of 3D glasses, and watch the game pop out of your screen! (Please note that GameHouse DOES NOT provide 3D glasses.)

This game is what hidden object is all about. It kept my attention and the journal and strategy guide kept me from getting stuck without knowing what to do. No boring time finding objects in redundant scenes. Keep this kind coming. I JUST LOVE IT!!

I loved this game. Will there be another edition? I don't want to say anymore, because I don't want to give anything away.

Similar to Mortimer Beckett and definitely a keeper!

Good challenging game, the puzzles were great. Had a good time playing it. Very addictive, like to see more of this type of game.

Although this game is short it's great fun and very well done. I played on my FunPass so it really didn't cost me anything. I agree that it's a relief only having to look for relevant objects that you'll use in the game, and not as someone said, potted plants and loads of butterflies. As there's no hint button in the ordinary scenes you did have to really look,(my *only* complaint!). I had to really hunt for the feathers, another of my pet hates, but they're fairly clear when you get your eye in, and in time there's a little twinkle to show you. Most are clear and obvious so making it more enjoyable, just get on with the adventure. The music is great, very tense and goes with the graphics beautifully, which are wonderful in themselves. Only downside: I can't stand the way it ended! :-( So frustrating. Looking forward to the sequel.

Great balance of puzzels and finding objects. Does not tie you up revisitng a limited number of scenes over and over to hunt for miniture objects. The graphics are very good; the availability of the strategy guide and journal helpful; and story line unique. Wonderful way to spend a raining afternoon or evening.

For a premium game, this plays fairly quickly (I made it through in about 2 hours). Having said that, the graphics are really good and the action moves you through the story very well. The hidden object portions were relatively challenging and the puzzles were different enough that they kept you engaged. Splitting the storyline was also something different and gave the game a more polished feel. I do want to know what happens next though - the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger.

This was definitely one of my favorite games. It made me want to look into the series more. Very Fun!

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game, in fact, I played it twice, It's not overly long and has a lot of helps in the Platinum Edition with the inclusion of a stragedy guide on the menu tab.

I'm not quite sure how I missed this one when it first came out, but it somehow went under the radar. I'm really glad I've found it now. A neat little game, with a few new twists. I did happen to have a pair of 3D glasses handy, and although I felt like a bit of a twit sitting in my living room with them on, it was worth having a crack at the game in 3D. I can't say that the 3D was outstanding, but it wasn't at all bad, considering that I was obviously sitting pretty close to my laptop screen. The opening cut scenes I thought were very good and pretty spooky - shades of The Mummy there, but well done. The graphics were excellent, because they really were very atmospheric and for anyone interested in ancient Egypt, it's a real treat, because the scenes are pretty authentic looking. I was especially pleased to see that in the hidden object levels there were no cameras, tin openers or potted aspidestras as you get in many HOGs. I really get annoyed when find the most ridiculous objects in scenes that are totally out of context. Every HOG scene was very believable and the objects were beautifully drawn and appropriate. Music was pretty good too. I did find it a bit easy, but sometimes you just feel like relaxing and not having to rack your brains too much and just enjoy a leisurely HOG. It did take me a while to get into the game play, but all in all I think it's a very acceptable game and well worth playing. My only gripe is that it was quite short, but still worth buying with a credit.

This was a really great game while it lasted. I finished the Platinum Edition with the extra rooms in less than 3 hours. I liked that most of the time I was actually looking for items that I could use, and the mini games were challenging, but not too hard. There is a skip option, but I never used it. You start out playing three separate games as different characters. I thought this was a great twist. Eventually, you get to the same point in the story with all of them and from there it is a joint venture. I gave this 4 stars only for the extremely short length.

Wonderful game for a few hours, quite thinking module. I wonder if there's a Part 2 or add-on to this game as it ends like a season with a cliff-hanger

I was so excited when I started downloading...turns out the huge size is due to 3D scenes. Sorry I missed it (no 3D glasses) but the game itself has the right balance of mini-games, puzzles, and hidden object so that you're not groaning "not AGAIN" even once during play. My only complaint? TOO SHORT. I got through it in about 3 hrs. Looking forward to the next one, though.

I tried playing this game 3 times and it is too complicated for me. Maybe the rest of you will love it, but I did not

3D Glasses not needed to play game. Has 3D effects that is asks you to turn on and put your glasses on. If you don't have 3D glasses then it just plays as normal w/o any 3D effects. Game plays fine w/o glasses, no distorted pictures or missing scenes. Otherwise the game plays well. You swap between different people to play different areas throughout the game. The Platinum Edition has extras well worth getting, not just wallpapers etc.

The graphics were fantastic. No dark corners you couldn't see into. Hints were plentiful. Mini games were challenging without being frustrating. There was only I thing I didn't like. I was unable to find the entrance to the last room, so I headed back the way I came and the game finished. I never did get a chance to go back and to to complete it. But I will play it again and just hope I remember not to do that again.

This game was lots of fun. The perfect balance between thinky and clicky. Challenging enough for adults, but easy enough for kids too. It had a surprise ending and I'm assuming there will be a sequel which I look forward to.

I paid 19.99 for the Platinum Edition, what a waste of money, I finished the game in less than 24 hours, too easy. Next time will only use my credits and get the shorter version.

The game was a little bit frustrating from the standpoint that you had to retrace your steps; but the map helped in that it showed what you missed where. Finding the way back, however, was interesting. Hints were a little flakey - ok, I know i have to find something here, I don't need you to tell me that....I liked that the minigames could be bypassed without hindering my progress, yet I could play them separately until I did figure them out. The ending is a surprise - can only presume a sequel is in the works, please....
