Dying for Daylight

Enter a dark world to track down a scattered group of vampires with Dying for Daylight, an original vampire tale developed in conjunction with best-selling author Charlaine Harris.

Vampires have become productive members and ultimately accepted into society, but their ancient vulnerability remains true - they can only emerge at night. When rumors circulate that a legendary potion allowing vampires to walk during daylight exists, Dahlia, a vamp with a fantastic sense of fashion and a razor-sharp wit, swoops in to hunt it down. Rival covens have their own ideas however, and soon turn the search into a bloody mess.

Embark on a darkly humorous journey across New Orleans with Dahlia to find the legendary sun potion. Search the Vampire Quarter to uncover clues of its whereabouts and track down the members of an avant-garde circus troop said to have it in its possession. Solve unique puzzles, gather strange items, and stay one step ahead of the rival coven determined to procure the sun potion at any cost.

Critics give Dying for Daylight 4 out of 5 stars and say, " It's got a style all its own, and a juicy story that will keep you interested until the end". See for yourself when you try the free trial version or download the full-unlimited version of Dying for Daylight today!

This is such a fun game. I played it a few years ago. Recently I was scanning through my games and remembered this one being such a cliffhanger. Thought for sure the continuation would be done, but NO! Where is the next one? It's been years!

I love this game. It's the first HO I ever played more than once. The graphics, the gameplay, the music are all fantastic! I feel like I've been waiting forever for the sequel.

I enjoyed this game as it requires quite a bit of logical thinking/puzzle-solving as well as finding hidden objects. However I am left with a sense of disappointment as it suddenly ends with "wait for part two" after about 4 chapters. However I guess the creators had to split it somewhere as it would be gargantuan otherwise!

I thought this game had a pretty good story line. Very original. I can't wait till the next game comes out.

what a creepy game. very adult content.. in addition to being a good HOG-finding items in different locations/using some items to futher the plot-, this story is interesting. a vampire quarter in NO. how cool is that???!!! i also found the content funny at times. it's nice to be creeped out and laughing at the same time. this is definately a game i want to finish, and play again at a later date. the graphics and voices help to make this game even better...

Not quite what I expected from the theme, but was pleasantly surprised. Despite some gory/frightening images, it was entertainingly humorous. (For this reason, I'll let older kids (12 yrs. & up) play this game). I usually don't go for scary themes, but this one I ended up buying. A well-built game! Looking forward to the sequel.

Great visuals, voice and storyline. The graphic novel overview before each episode is a nice touch. Four stars because this is not a complete game.

I have to agree with the other reviews I read...I really liked this game - I liked the characters (especially the main character), I loved the story, the graphics...I even loved the music! I got through the first few "episodes" and couldn't wait to start the next...only to find out there is no next, at least not until later!!! When is later? How long do we have to wait until we can continue?? Not being a complete adventure is a real let-down :( Please, please hurry with the sequel!!!!!

so far I am finally enjoying this game since I was one who had a hard time getting it to run on my computer, but now it works great! Thanks Gamehouse for working on the issue. I have not gotten very far but so far I am enjoying it's originality, and it's a game that intrigues me enough to keep going.

Definitely not your "standard" HO game...has a lot of new twist and turns to get to the next level... only complaint is I truly hate Cliffhangers!!! If I had realized I would have waited till the next level was available and downloaded both...

I'm finding it really hard to rate this one... Which describes the whole game - really hard. Not the HO scenes, the questy stuff. I'm really really really trying to like this one. A hip vampire chick with funky attitude, and wicked dress sense, I thought I'd found paradise. I really loved the intro music, enough to look up the performers (The Scarlet Furies). The gameplay, artwork and story, though delightfully captivating, and original, are fighting a losing war with those whacky designers who produced it all. Maybe it's my lack of experience showing, but I spend half my time with my nose in another site's walkthrough. Any game that is that hard to play is not all good. Yet the IDEA of the game keeps me battling on gamely, walkthrough in hand, because I Will finish this, and I Will play through it all again once I've got the hang of it. Which I guess speaks for how replayable this one. In fact, after writing all this, I figure if you're a better gamer than me (not hard), this one is probably worth a 5.

Great game. Challenging, but not frustrating. Looking forward to the next one!

Wish there was more to the game. It ended as I expected the next level to start. I hope the follow up comes out soon. Have some more challenging side games for trophies.

This game really rocked my socks. I enjoyed the storyline which was certainly more coherent than most, the main character was a kick to listen to, and I found myself totally drawn in. My favorite part was the way the hint button worked. It allowed you to pick a question from a list (How do I find XYZ?) Then it gives specific steps involved in completing that part of the task. I suppose for some that may be more information than they needed but I loved it. And the answer would then be stored in your journal so you can refer back to it anytime. This isn't a flawless game, I was confused more than once and some of the mini games were a bit confusing. But it is definitely a cut above the norm. The developers obviously put time into making a unique game. I haven't been able to find a release date for part 2 but I'm crossing my fingers that it will be along soon.

This is a great game, I love the graphics and the story line, it was a little short though.

This has the most entertaining story line of any game I've ever played. The actual gameplay was a little too easy for my tastes but the music, graphics, and humorous characters make this the best game-playing experience I've had in a long while.

This is really a fabulous game. The art is beautiful. The music is wonderful. (How many HOG's actually have a theme song by a real band? And it's a good song. download it just to listen to the song. Very nice touch there.) The plot is interesting, and the HO scenes are good without being painful. The voice acting is spotty, but that's still a lot better than most VA'd video games. The heroine (who talks incessantly) is well voiced and not at all annoying. Every one else tends to be enough of a bit part that it's not too bad if their voice is obnoxious. The puzzles are different, and honestly I found the first two chapters the hardest, but that could be because I simply hadn't slotted into the designer's logic yet. The quirkiness of the puzzles doesn't change through the whole game. Puzzles aren't just forgotten either, you'll have to go back and use some of them several times, which I found a nice touch. The to be continued came out of nowhere and I was a bit annoyed by it, but considering the level of art involved in the game I can see why they split it into two. If you're a fan of Harris then this game just adds another layer to the world. It's completely unrelated to Sookie & co, unless there's some crossover with a minor character (but I doubt it). If you don't like Harris, try it anyway. The heroine's completely unlike Sookie. (Who knew a kleptomaniac vampire could be so endearing?) Beyond some slang and one mention of "True Blood" the game could have been completely unrelated.
