Dragon Hatchery

Run your own nursery and raise baby dragons in Dragon Hatchery, a delightful combination of match-3 puzzling and time management fun!

Once upon a time in a land far away, wise Dragons were the mystical protectors of the land. Where they roamed, life was peaceful until, for some unexplained reason, they became extinct. Wars took over and ravaged the land. That is no more however because you are here to make everything right with your new dragon hatchery!

Hatch baby dragons by matching three or more of their like-colored eggs. Be quick before their columns reach the top or your level is over. After you have hatched enough, it's time to get to the nursery and raise them so that they can fly off to return peace once again. Build their nests, wash and feed them and make sure they get their vitamins! Buy upgrades to fix up your nursery and restore the habitats one-by-one.

I was intrigued by this game being a huge time management fan, I was looking forward to raising baby dragons, but this has to be the worst one i have played. The match 3 element is good, but the nursery is something else. The game becomes to fast paced to be playable even on the easiest settings and repetative isn't the word. I hated this game and I would definately not recommend it.

The game is in two parts, a matching-type puzzle game and a vaguely time management-like "hatchery". The gameplay of the puzzle is awful and the hatchery is boring and repetitive. Not a lot of quality went into either side, and other than maybe a few children, it's doubtful anyone would consider this game worth the money.

Even on easiest 'kid' setting, the game becomes too fast and complex to play, well before half-way through. Click-to-grab functions (to give food, water, etc. to baby dragons) are not reliable, so actions must be repeated. Cute graphics, but NOT kid-friendly play. This game will frustrate any player, long before any 'victory' is in sight. Player must hatch and raise hundreds of dragons to complete the game, but is impossible to play after just a few dozen are raised. Do not buy.

The concept was a sound one (bring a magical land back to live through finding dragon eggs, hatching them, and rearing little dragons), but the game is a terrible one. Play orbits between the hatchery, where a dull match three game awaits with a plodding pace and no variation, and the nursery, where you fail miserably to be in four places at once when all of your hatchlings need food, water, or soil themselves at the same time, causing them to fall off the screen with a whimsical "fwee". While trying to mix match three and time management elements, Dragon Hatchery fails at both and couches them in a confusing and ugly interface. Don't buy this game. Don't give it as a gift. There are other, better games out there that deserve your attention more.
