Reviews of Detective Stories - Hollywood

I enjoyed finding the objects and doing some of the minigames, but some of them have super low time limits and are nearly impossible (placing 30 objects in 0:59 seconds?), which is just annoying, especially with a laptop mouse. The story really doesn't do anything to carry the game. The conversations have little purpose and become an annoying interruption to the game. And there are so many wrong words in them they're hard to read. Without these convos the game would be relatively fun, but the constant interruptions for meaningless talking make it somewhat annoying to play.

Insipid storyline, impossible minigames & poor translations (the original version was not in English) mar what would have been a great game if only it was produced by someone who cared about quality.

This game has good graphics, color and art, but that is the best I can speak about it. I thought it was boring and the two dectectives deserve one another. I found both to be kind of dim witted.

The one thing I can't stand in games is misspelled words and bad dialogue. It degrades the quality and believability. I swear I must have been an English teacher in a previous life .... I want to take a red pen and circle all the errors on my screen. When something is translated to English, gamers need to make sure to have an English speaking person go over the dialogue for errors. Other than that (whew!), the scenery was nice, and it was fun to see old movie stars as characters in the game. Other than the bad dialogue, this is a fun game, though easy......
