A short opening introduction sets the story as you, Inspector Crane are sent to Sleepy Hollow to discover the murderer on the loose beheading the townsfolk of the small town outside New York. Hidden object scenes are clear and especially early in the game items are relatively easy to find. It seemed to me that as you get further in the game some of the items become more difficult to locate, but not impossibly so. Some of them you locate items by name, at other times you locate by pictures of the items. Some items are hidden and require action in the scene to be located, and the end of the searches result in you acquiring an item needed to continue gameplay outside of the h/o. Pointing and clicking to place the object in the correct scene to further your adventure. Mini games are different and varied and most are not complicated and readily solved. There is a side search within the game for golden horseshoes with which you can use to purchase trophies at the end of the game. The bonus chapter is a nice addition and brings a conclusion to the story, though it ends rather abruptly. There is a strategy guide easily accessible, though I only used it a few times, always nice to have one handy. I played the game on easy though so others playing it on difficult may need it more often. Graphics are nice throughout, music is pleasant, voices ok for the most part. Game is of decent length and enjoyable. Wasn't sure I would like it, but ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would.

For the most part this was a very enjoyable game. The voice overs were good, as were the graphics and music. While there was no map, each chapter was divided into its own segment, and you didn't have to backtrack to a previous segment once you had completed it. The HO scenes started out pretty easy but got harder as the game progressed. They also got darker. Some items were nearly impossible to find without a hint, and I hate that. The hint button was useful for helping to figure out where to go next, particularly since it got a bit complicated toward the end. The mini games were nicely varied, but not very difficult. The story line carried through the whole game and moved it forward. It was a bit long for my taste--it took me three evenings to complete in difficult mode. There is good value here, but I would not recommend for young children.

The graphics were great. HO scenes varied from a list of items or pictures of items. They weren't too easy or too hard to find. Great mixture. The hint recharge was set at a perfect time and worked very well when stumped with what to do next. I really needed it towards the end of the game and could not think of where to go to use the inventory items. There is no map but it is not needed. Each chapter only contains a few areas that you need to travel to. There is no traversing back to where you began 16+- locations ago. I do not play at a quick pace to hurry to a new game. This game took me 3 evenings to complete and I have not started the bonus game yet. The developers did an excellent job producing this game. The name of the game does give a clue that it is not made for children.

Nice graphics; darker story is appreciated, as is the bonus chapter. Some of the puzzles were too easy.

Great Graphics, Great storyline. I felt it could of been more difficult, i played the harder mode and felt it could of been more challenging. Over all i enjoyed the storyline, and it kept me sunk in and i played until i beat the game. I would recommend this to any who love these types of games:)

This game was one of the better HO games I've played in awhile. The graphics were excellent and the mini games were not difficult at all. Got all the achievements but in order to buy all the trophies you have to play the bonus chapter several times which I didn't appreciate as much as the standard chapters. Overall a great game with high replay value. Note this game is NOT touch approved.

This game was no exception. I enjoyed the plot twists from the very beginning to the end. The HO scenes were challenging enough to make this a more lengthy game, and the hints were readily available if you needed them. This game may be a bit frightening for the younger children, but preteens and up should generally be fine. This game is also fun in that it has in-game achievements in the form of 'trophies', which you can buy with golden horseshoes found throughout the game. If you're a completionist, you will likely spend a long time finding them all. :) Overall, the artwork was well done, the storyline kept you involved, and gameplay itself was smooth.

this is a typical HOG. go to different locations to find objects that are helpful in advancing you in the game. there is no map in this game. i think that would be very helpful, and i found the journal not very helpful either. the minigames were interesting, and fairly easy to figure out. i didn't skip many of them. very creepy story line. music is good. oh, and it takes the hint button quite a while to recharge...

I was pleasantly surprised with this game. It had a very good story line, ver good graphics ans a good flow of game. I agree with other reviewers that you had to use the hint button alot to get around, but I liked the HO scenes, even though they could be difficult. The minin games were fine and overall this one is a winner

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The characters are based more on the Tim Burton version with Johnny Depp rather than strictly true to the book. However, despite some running back and forth and sometimes not seeing exactly what was in front of my face - it was an engrossing play. I did find some of the puzzles/next steps a bit hard to work out but judicious use of the hint button did actually assist. This is one of the few games I would play again.

An excellent game, with a seemingly endless variety of minigames, locations and HO scenes. The graphics were well rendered, and the HO items were accurately described (unlike some which are often poorly translated into English). The storyline was logical and well developed. My primary concern in evaluating the value of a game is: "Do you get your money's worth?". This depends largely on the length of the game and/or replay value. In this case the answer is a resounding "Yes"! The game goes on much, much longer than most of this genre. The game has my vote for "Game of the Year", at least until I find one better! The investment in purchasing the full version is well worth it. I enjoyed it quite a bit. By the way, the Bonus chapter was interesting, and better than most.

I really enjoyed this game because I thought it had one of the best storylines in a game. In my experience, HOGs have notoriously bad stories, so this was a welcome surprise. I thought the graphics were nice and the items were hidden well. Some were a little bit too well hidden depending on my color settings. I switched monitors at one point and suddenly a few items that I could not see at all were very visible. Whoopsies! The only reason I'm giving it a 4-star review is because I think the gameplay ended somewhat abruptly, and there was no option to go back through all the chapters to replay and find all the special objects I had missed the first time around. I would have really liked to have the ability to do that.

It was like watching Johnny Depp and Christopher Walken in the movie version. Great movie, great game. Graphics were nice, hints recharged quickly. Mini games were fun, But look out, some HO objects were so small and dark it was impossible to find them so I needed the hint button often. I don't think this is a child-friendly game. Too many beheadings. Regardless, I love the game, I love the story and I hope you will too.

Hard to believe I'd complain about length, but this just seemed to go on and on. That would be OK if it were continually innovative but it wasn't, a great many HOS (some items nearly impossible to find in the dark scenes) and the same theme tune endlessly repeated. I did finish it, and played the bonus game, but I took a number of breaks because it really did get tedious. It had a good story line, good voiceovers, good graphics. Mini games very easy. I gave it 4 stars because it is a good value but they needed a little judicious editing in there.

Played a lot of games. I thought this one was just about right on top. Graphics were good, HO scenes did get a bit darker later in the game. Oh well HINT. . A map would have been perfect. But I used the hint for direction if needed also. I would have liked this game to be longer for me. Keep them coming!!!! Story line was good also. Play it you'll like it!!!

This is a really good game with a few problems. Some of the HO scenes are so dark that you can't find objects. Really frustrating to get a hint and there is a ladybug in complete darkness. I had to click around a lot blindly - which got me a little reprimand that said "Don't guess". Duh, how could I find anything? Also I would get confused about what to do next and the hint would point to one room, I'd go in, find nothing to do, hit hint again, and it would point to another room???? But the good news - interesting story, numerous scenes, clever puzzles that weren't too difficult and it lasts a long time. It's worth playing.

A bit of it was somewhat complicated. I think you had to really think about some of the items and how to use them and/or combine them. All in all it was a fun game.

Great graphics, good storyline, awesome music score, good game length including the bonus chapter. Don't have any negatives as I really like this game. Very well done.
