I was really disappointed with this game. You couldn't advance the dialogue screens by clicking so either had to wait lengthy periods as each character had their say, or choose the 'skip' option. After the first few screens I chose the skip option just so I could have some gameplay. On the search scenes I found the items extremely difficult to find and had to use the Hint button far too often. Against the current standard of HOG games, I found this game very ordinary. The story line was weak and I gave up well before the trial had finished. Won't be downloading the full version.
Have played some pretty bad games in my time but this one is on the top of my list so far. Horrible story line (or non existent), annoying music. impossible to find objects. Don't waste time or money on this.

This game is pretty terrible. The conversations are stilted, and you can't click through them to make them go faster--all you can do is skip them altogether. The HO scenes are impossible. The graphics aren't that great, and many of the items are next to invisible. I had to use three or four hints just to get through a scene. But the puzzles are so easy a 3rd grader could do them. I rarely ever give up on a game, but I was done after 15 minutes. Give this one a miss.
I don't get it. We have all of these great computers with these nice monitors, and games like this come out. I only played for about 5 minutes. On full-screen the area of play is tiny. The area of play is put against a large brick background. I don't know if the authors were trying to make the game difficult with this method. I just thought bad judgment call. Sorry this is a no go for me.

If I could give it NO stars i would. Game is clunky scenes take forever with little or no information relevant to game play. Hidden objects are very difficult to find and I'm sorry I don't want to have to exit game to find definition if European names for items like spanner if it's a wrench you want found then say wrench. I had to get a hint more times in 1 scene than I did in the entire game for the 3 previous games I downloaded. A few items I discovered after I started a new game then tried ti find objects I had just found only by hints and the items were indistinguishable so were never going to be found without repeated hints for the list. Been a while since I downloaded a game that was this bad! And don't go by the slider bars for pace, challenge level or clicky as none of them apply but Gamehouse forces those 3 things to be answered
I agree with a lot of the other reviews - I couldn't finish the free trial as I got fed up with skipping through uninteresting, irrelevant dialogue to spend ages trying to find the last few, nearly impossible, items. There really was just too much dialogue and it didn't feel like it added anything. TBH the storyline was pretty weak too and wasn't enough to make me want to continue. Positives: What I saw seemed okay for children
This has to be one of the most boring games I've ever played. Their really isn't much of a story, just a lot of VERY SLOW conversations between people in the town where the recipe gets lost. These conversations don't really have anything to do with finding the recipe, and seem to only make the game slower. Also, the hidden objects are extremely difficult to find. Many of them are practically impossible to see -- so much so that I had to wait for the hint several times in many of the HO scenes. This made the game very frustrating, in addition to being boring. I finally stopped playing the game after about 45 minutes. It was so bad that I didn't even want to finish my free trial!
I don't know the show, so the storyline doesn't mean much to me. But that's secondary to the real irritant which is that is impossible, or nearly so, to find some of this stuff. Things are drawn into the colors to be barely visible, or imagine finding a box of cookies (called biscuits) by identifying the corner of the box--in a room that is full of other boxes and really junky to boot. There are mini games (fit the pipes together, anyone?), the Hint button recharges quickly, and the graphics and music are nice. When you use a Hint, it's clear where the item is because the whole picture darkens and an item is highlighted in yellow. Those are the positives. Not enough to hold my attention for more than two sittings.
...so I shut it down. The game. Boring. Slowly. Couldn't see anything. How should I find a package of biscuits between 30 packages of candy and other sweets? It didn't write the content on the package.... Sorry.

How can I put this? Oh, just read all the other reviews, after thousands of hidden object games without ever needing a hint no matter what, these screens are so cluttered and annoying I had to use about three hints per search. The smirky, grinning, laughable people staring at you will give you the willys. Use of object names exclsively British will foil many peoples attempts to resolve. Poorly planned out, executed, cheap looking. Crown this one with a baseball bat.
I found this game to be far inferior to most modern HO games. I've heard of hard to find but I have never had to use so many hints - sometimes you couldn't see more than a corner of the item. This is probably the first game I have given up on before the trial period ended. I will definitely NOT buy this game.

I wanted to like this game, but, stayed confused during the entire free trial. I did not know what half the things were in the HOS. I'm sure they were easier to find in England. They were also well hidden or just impossible to find. The only time I heard the 'sound track', was when I asked for a hint (which was freq.). Directions for the mini games just were not there. Sorry, I hate to give a bad reveiw, but this game was just not 'my cup of tea'.
I've never seen the show, but the dialogue in the game is completely inconsequential and bloody boring. Even worse, the dialogue slides move excruciatingly slowly, and your only recourse is to skip the dialogue altogether. The hidden objects can be very small or just a faint outline impossible to see without using a hint, at which time the scene switches to black and white with the HO in yellow. But if you wait a few seconds, the scene reverts to normal so that you can see what the object looked like -- and I could still swear that it wasn't there before. Be aware that there is some "translation," for example what Americans call a crescent wrench is a "spanner" in the game. Artwork is nice and bright, just not necessarily recognizable. Only played a couple of scenes, and didn't have the patience to continue.
This game is so bad in so many ways. The graghics are terrible!! You cannot find things until you figure out to watch for the shadows on the wall or the tip of the back of a chair in the lower left-hand corner. There is no storyline to follow. The music is boring elevator snooze tune... The only good thing I can say is that you don't have to spend time waiting to load between levels and that it is a short game...I can truly say that this is he worst game that GH has presented so far.......
Find the recipe for Granny but the senses are so small you are unable to find the HO's you are searching for. Talk about un-see-able graphics, this is the worse game I have seen (hee hee) in a long, long time. You will need a scope to see the HO's list of things as well. Looks like someone throw this together in 10 seconds or less. I hope you can find the torn pieces of Granny world's best hot pot recipe cuz, I sure could not.
I'm familiar with this program & expected this game to be lots of fun.....WRONG I played two painfull hours (gave me a headache) and couldn't take anymore. I couldn't get pass any frames without using the hint button. Has "junk piles" & items so faded into the background they were impossible to find. The dialogue drove me crazy it was so annoying.

Read the majority of the reviews of this game but still like most badly rated games I give them a try so I can decide myself. What I found was the items were hard to see/find, it is a very boring game. This could be a good game but the developers first need to throw away the original and start from scratch. Took me a half hour before I deleted the game!

If you're looking for a headache this game is for you. Just rooms of clutter with objects so small that you land up using the hint button for half of them. Twenty minutes was all I could take. Delete, delete.

Disappointing... Items are extremely hard to find.. and the shift between scenes is very frustrating..
